*MARCH 4th, SAT ~ TIGER MOON ~ http://www.tigermoonmusic.com/ ~ SOUL/ROCK ~ Tiger Moon is a West Canadian folk duo. Boasting harmonious sounds, heartfelt melodies and foot-stomping rhythms, this is a pair to be reckoned with. They perform with a guitar, mandolin, two sets o’ boots and two big, rich voices. Drawing their sound from traditional folk, Canadiana, soul, rock and reggae, they are a minimalist barn-burning band with syrup-soaked harmonies.
Tiger Moon came to be in 2012 when Kasey Graff and Dan Tait, each forging their own music careers, found one another in downtown Kelowna. They discovered a beautiful chemistry together and began performing as a duo at jam nights and coffeehouses. Shortly thereafter, the couple became serious about their music together, and about their relationship and began wowing crowds with their rich, harmony-driven sound.
*MARCH 9th, THURS ~ BRAD BREWER ~*CANCELLED ****
Do to his vehicle being broken into in Vancouver early last Sat. and all his equipment stolen, sadly, Brad has to cancel his tour and show at Lorenzo's. Shit does happen... Good luck on recovering your gear, Brad
https://soundcloud.com/bradbrewerband ~ CANADIAN FOLK/ROCK ~ Affectionately called “Tater” by friends, family, and fans, Brad Brewer eats, sleeps, and bravuras his love for all kinds of music on the daily. In fact, it’s his eclectic taste for many genres which helps Brewer shape his percussive, guitar-playing style and mould the tight, pounding rhythm that the Brad Brewer Band is today. Anyone who has seen him perform will recognize that very passion and understand how it drives his music. Brewer happily brings this sound to his audiences — it’s a sound that stains your mind. If you can't tap your toes to his catchy rhythms and melodies, or sing along to his words, then you may be deaf or dead. Because this thrifty, pick it up and play it, honest, Canadiana folk rock at its Bow Valley finest, is sure to make you feel alive.
*MARCH 10th, FRI ~ KEVIN ROY ~ http://www.kevinroymusic.com/ ~COUNTRY/ROOTS/ROCK ~
Working a day gig never made sense for Kevin Roy. Upon the release of the Winnipeg troubadour's 2014 debut, Taller Than The Trees, he left the stability of his high school teaching gig for a life on the road. Swapping in students wielding knives, saws and implements of destruction in the high school wood shop for more attentive audiences in North American bars and theatres, Roy hasn't looked back.
Now, he's set to release his latest collection, the Kickstarter-goal surpassing Heartworn Highways, to his country and roots rock-loving backers, and anyone else interested in pulling up a chair and listening to some genuine, good ol' storytelling songs.
These new listeners may want to be careful if they share a shot or a beer, as Roy is keen to include tales of anyone and everyone he meets in his songs, which also focus heavily on staying true to one's roots - something the Hank Williams, Neil Young and Corb Lund-inspired Roy does in spades. He even attended Kelvin High School, the very same educational institute Young himself famously failed to graduate from.
*MARCH 15th, WED ~ K-MAN & THE 45s ~ https://www.reverbnation.com/kmanandthe45s
~ SKA/ROCK&ROLL ~ K-Man & The 45s, where Ska meets Rock and Roll. This Canadian 5 piece band from downtown Montreal is as heavily influenced by old school ska as it is with classic rock n roll. With a fantastic horn section playing catchy melodic lines and blazing solos over an energetic rhythm section, they switch naturally from ska to rock and punk, with surf sounds often not far behind. They draw influences as much from 2 tone bands such as The Specials and The Beat as they do from The Ramones and The Cramps.
K-Man & The 45s has always felt more comfortable on the road than at home. They have toured the country countless times playing coast to coast. They’ve also shared the stage with a million bands including: The Slackers, Big D and The Kids Table, The Satellites, The Original Wailers , The Planet Smashers, The Brains and I could easily fall in to simple name dropping here and go on and on.
K-Man & the 45s will here at Lorenzo's shaking the floor boards with mad skanking good times!
*MARCH 17th, FRI ~ CATHY-ANN WELLS & JUANITA ZWICK on ST. PADDY'S DAY ~ http://www.phatbetty.com/ https://www.facebook.com/juanita.zwick.1
~ JAZZ/BLUES ~ Vocalist Cat Wells knows how to reach into your soul as if relaying your own heartfelt tragedy with her emotion filled, energetic and impromptu brand of Blues. With her earliest idols being Miss Billie Holiday followed by Etta James and Janis Joplin, it’s not surprising to hear hints of Jazz and Funk thrown in there as well. Her poignant use of phasing and creative manipulation of notes whisk you into a smokey bayou where you experience her own interpretive twist on styles.
Born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Toronto’s suburbs, Cat began singing at an early age. In fact her grade one report card boasts “Cathy-Ann loves to sing and entertains us quite frequently”. She has run the gambit on musical styles including Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Rock, Funk, Jazz and finally Blues.
Cat has shared the stage with "the Ray Charles Orchestra", Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne and Harpdog Brown and has opened for ZZ Top, Crash Test Dummies, Jeff Healey, Rita Chiarelli and countless others. She has performed from Alaska to Russia and through the Caribbean in venues as small as 30 people and to audiences as large as 10,000.
Juanita's powerful vocals and song writing brilliance compliments Cathy-Ann on every level!
*MARCH 18th, SAT ~ JACOB SOUCY ~ with STEVE SOUCY http://www.jacobsoucy.com/ https://soundcloud.com/jacobsoucy
~ TRUMPET/KEYBOARD/JAZZ ~ FATHER & SON DYNAMO ~ Jacob Soucy plays trumpet & drums and sings. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, he is currently based in Vernon, British Columbia. At age 17, Jacob has already won an Outstanding Performer Award at the BC Interior Jazz Festival and a scholarship from the Vernon Jazz Society. Jacob is inspired by trumpeters who came before him- most notably, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, and Wynton Marsalis. He strives to continue their legacy of outstanding jazz through performance and musical development.
Growing up, Jacob was often witness to the magic of live and recorded music through his parents’ careers. His father is an acclaimed musician specializing in roots and popular music, and his mother was a radio host at some of Vancouver’s top stations for 25 years. Starting as young as age 4, Jacob was singing and recording songs written by him and his father; eventually picking up trumpet in the fifth grade. Soon after beginning to play in multiple bands at WL Seaton Secondary School in Vernon, music became Jacob's most important passion. His stirring performances drew rave reviews from adjudicators at MusicFest Canada and the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. After achieving 100% in Seaton’s jazz band class, Geoff Dolman noted that Jacob “is at the pinnacle of the band program in terms of musical leadership, dedication, and commitment”. Jacob continues his journey of becoming a better musician by comprehensively studying jazz and building his career locally.
*MARCH 23rd, THURS ~ Luisa Marshall as TINA TURNER ~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAcEtvHG4Y http://www.luisamarshall.com/ ~ TINA TURNER TRIBUTE ~ Luisa Marshall is an award winning performer, TV show host, producer, publisher, wife and mother of two. She performed on Oprah with Tina Turner and Cher being guests during “Oprah’s Biggest Show Ever” held at Caesar’s Palace. Luisa was also asked to be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November of 2015 and danced alongside the popular host to Proud Mary.
Believing in the importance of giving back to her community, Luisa always finds time to use her many talents to help in anyway she can. After winning the World Rock ‘N Roll Tribute Championship in 2003 for her tribute to the Queen of Rock N Roll, Tina Turner, she set off on a grueling show tour for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in war-torn Bosnia and Sarajevo. The following year she performed for the Multinational Force and Observers in Israel and Egypt.
Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Luisa aspired to become an actress as a young child. But at the age of 17, her attention quickly turned to singing when she landed the role of Mary Magdalene in her high school’s production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. With her newfound love of theatre it wasn’t long until she was cast in other musical productions alongside notable broadway stars like Bernardo Bernardo and Baby Barredo.
In 1995, while on stage with her band during a show in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Luisa gave in to the persistent request of a fan to wear a wild “Tina Turner” wig while she and her band performed Proud Mary. The combination of her strong vocals, her rock ‘n’ roll attitude and her astounding resemblance to the Queen of Rock brought the house down. That night, Luisa’s career as a tribute artist was born, however, it wasn’t until late 1999 that she decided to take her Tina Turner tribute act seriously. Within a few years, in 2003, she competed in and won the grand prize as the World Rock ‘N Roll Tribute Artist Champion, beating out participants from all over the world.

*APRIL 7th, FRI ~ SAM WEBER ~ http://www.samweber.me/
ROCK/POP/ROOTS “Sam Weber’s expansive blend of driving rock, dream pop, and roots influences is a testament to fierce ambition.” - Guitar Player Magazine
Between the desert of British Columbia’s interior and Vancouver Island lies an expanse that has shaped a mindset not dissimilar from what’s commonly associated with southern California. The seemingly laid back lifestyles they share often mask a desperate search for meaning in the superficial, and hope amid cynicism.
Sam Weber’s new album, Valentina Nevada, firmly establishes the 23-year-old B.C. native as one of Canada’s most powerful young songwriters. Using the vintage Laurel Canyon sounds of Jackson Browne, the Eagles, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell as their foundation, Weber and his band guide the listener on the journey they have been on for the past two years, both literally and metaphysically, joined by the title muse, Valentina, a symbol of finding meaning in the superficial, and hope amid cynicism.
*APRIL 8th, SAT ~ ELK the MOOSE ~ https://elkthemoosemusic.bandcamp.com/releases
ROOTS/FOLK/REGGAE Based out of Kelowna, BC, Kevin Inch and Kyle Chivers originated out in Peterborough, ON, with their blend of folk and reggae music. Soulful vocals, hypnotic rhythms, passionate songs about land, relationship, and personal struggles, their live performance is a perfect blend of soulful melody, and raw sound.
*APRIL 14th, FRI ~ MARY ME ~ http://www.marrymemusic.ca/ BLUES/PUNK/ROCK Danny Lovelock (guitar & vocals) is perpetually barefoot and unwashed, Natalee Fera (bass & vocals) leaves lipstick on the milk carton, and Kenny Dietrich (drums) doesn’t like to wear clothes. Influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, Eric Clapton, and classic rock, blues, and punk, this Vancouver three piece stops at nothing to entertain at every show, off and on the stage.
The product of an ambush set-up, Marry Me brings together three artists from completely different musical backgrounds (punk, musical theatre, and metal).
Says producer Travis Saunders: “Marry Me is a band to watch out for. With their innovative style, aggressive guitars and slamming drums layered with melodic vocal harmonies that bring meaning to the word ‘catchy’, anyone who listens to this album should consider themselves lucky”.

*APRIL 20th, THURS ~ LAZY MIKE & THE ROCKIN' RECLINERS ~ http://lazymikerockinrecliners.com/
~ ROCK/BLUES ~ These guys work the rocking side of Chicago blues with a touch of western swing. They are smart and fun with enough of a light touch to keep everything interesting. A Nanaimo based four-piece with “Lazy” Mike Mallon on vocals and harp, Carson “McKinley Slim” Mallon on guitar, Brian Whitty on bass, and Evan Matthiessen on drums. Muddy Waters given name was McKinley, which tells you where they locate their musical influences. "Lazy Mike and the Rockin' Recliners" are one of the hardest workin' Blues Bands on Vancouver Island. These guys always bring their "A" game to the shows they play and have had the crowds jumpin' every time that I have had the pleasure of seeing one of their shows. Good solid musicians who know how to entertain an audience with high energy, enthusiasm, and an honest passion for the music they play. One of the hightlights of the "2012 Powell River Blues Festival!"

*APRIL 28th, FRI ~ BOTTOM SHELF BOURBON TRIO ~ http://www.thebottomshelfbourbontrio.com/ ~ BLUEGRASS ~ Between the high, lonesome sound of bluegrass and the low-down grit and growl of the blues, with just a touch of 1920s swing and 1980s punk is The Bottom Shelf Bourbon Trio making their own take on roots music. Their forthcoming full-length album is a collection of songs on such universal themes as substance use and infidelity, blue collar angst and unrequited love, of leaving forever and coming back again. Their genre bending style incorporates influences ranging from The Devil Makes Three, Doc Watson, Big Bill Broonzy, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Wills and 1930s jug bands.

Original bluesy funkn' rock and soul! Formerly based out of Smithers and now Kelowna, they have paid their dues in venues across B.C. over the last decade.
*MAY 4th, THURS ~ CLAUDE BOURBON ~ http://www.claudebourbon.org/ ~ SPANISH/BLUES ~ An evening of guitar and song, well-travelled on both sides of the Atlantic, UK based Swiss French singer songwriter Claude Bourbon weaves his songs through the audience as if on a journey through life taking in different flavours of Europe and beyond. His Spanish medieval blues evolved into Gypsy, Eastern European, with a splash of Paco de Lucia, Delta Blues and more. Holding audience attention under a musical spell,
Claude Bourbon is an enigma, he is a classically trained musician, who fuses every conceivable genre of acoustic guitar music into a master-class of a stage performance. There are Latin, Spanish, Gypsy, Jazz and Delta Blues influences throughout, and often within one seamless stream of perfection. If I had to be critical of any weakness, to an admittedly untrained ear, it is in his vocals, not the fact that they have a distinct Gallic touch, but more that Claude’s soulful voice cannot hope to match his dexterity on his well travelled Gibson acoustic guitar.
"It rarely happens that an opening act on a festival blows us away. Nevertheless, Claude Bourbon succeeded magnificently on Elouges en Blues with his finely strung mix of folk and classical with a dab of acoustic blues."
*MAY 15th, MON ~ HECTOR ARCHONDO ~ http://hectoranchondo.com/ ~ SMOKIN' BLUES ~ Hector Anchondo doesn’t just play the blues— he lives and breathes the blues. At 16-years-old, the budding musician picked up his first guitar and never looked back. He began an instant love affair with the instrument, especially Fenders. Born in Omaha, but raised seven miles outside of Salem, Missouri, Anchondo was able to take advantage of the tranquil farm life and learn guitar at a steady pace. He was drawn to those artists who played Fender Stratocasters like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton, but also respected the country greats such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. As he got older, his propensity for music only intensified. After playing countless shows at family gatherings and hole-in-the-wall dive bars, Anchondo made the move back to Omaha, Nebraska in 2000. His first official recording, Rookies of the Year, was with his first band, Anchondo, and featured more energetic, Latin-influenced grooves.
A few artists Hector has had the privilege of performing with: Styx, CCR, Johnny Winter, Marshal Tucker Band, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Bernard Allison, Magic Slim, John Nemeth, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Indigenous, Big & Rich, Fishbone, Devon Allman, Mike Zito, Cyril Neville, Shawn Holt & The Tear Drops, Samantha Fish, Hamilton Loomis, Mr. Sipp, and many more.

*MAY 27th, SAT ~ POPPA DAWG ~ http://poppadawg.com/
COMING BACK TO DIG UP THE YARD AND PLAY SOME LOFTY GUITAR AND EARTH SHAKING VOCALS!
Hailing from the 'Left Coast' of Canada, Poppa Dawg has toured extensively throughout Western and Northern Canada with stints in La Paz, Mexico at The City of Peace Blues Festival and most recently, in 2013 as a participant at the 29th International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They made it to the semi-finals there and along the way forged some very strong friendships with friends around the world.
Sharing the stage as a side man with such artists as Sonny Rhodes, Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne and Harpdog Brown and as an opener for many years for John Mayall, Colin James, Jeff Healey, Powder Blues and so many others has been Poppa Dawg’s classroom and the education has not been lost on him as he presents the blues with a unique, tongue-in-cheek view and a deep and respectful appreciation of the music. Having garnered critical acclaim with 4 Cds both as himself and with his former band Dogskin Suit, the music runs all the way from Memphis to Motown. The most recent CD ‘What You Got’ features Canada’s own JW Jones on guitar on the track ‘Dub Step’ with Dawg and Dub doing a call and answer at the end that speaks the blues!
*JUNE 14th, WED ~ MANITOBA HAL ~ http://www.manitobahal.com/ ~ BLUES GUITAR & UKE MASTER ~ Over the past fifteen years Manitoba Hal Brolund has forged an international reputation for engaging performance, storytelling and masterful ukulele playing. His strong foundation in American roots / blues music, confident expressive vocals, and distinctive original music have made him a solid draw and in demand workshop leader at festivals, house concerts and soft seat theatres in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Hal’s performances are all about engaging and connecting with his audience and he makes music that takes his audience from the deep south to the islands with songs that are mournful, hopeful, silly, romantic and introspective. He proves that the uke can be small but mighty as he pulls out powerful blues riffs and melodies adding background beats with looping technology showcasing the blues in all it's passion and groove.
Many wouldn’t associate the ukulele as a blues instrument, but Hal takes out all the hula, leaving only room for deep blues to prevail. Hal’s own blues tunes breathe with hints of cajun, rock, gospel, and folk. He is influenced by artists like Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Colin Linden, and Big Dave Mclean.
Internationally recognized as a master of the ukulele, Hal’s instruments include a custom made double necked ukulele and a steel strung baritone slide ukulele that are both driven to the edge as he bangs, plucks and squeezes every ounce of emotion and groove from the four strings.
"Hal is one of the top musicians in the world. He has played in numerous countries in the northern and southern hemispheres. His approach to his music and the time and attention he gives to young musicians hoping to learn from him is truly extraordinary." Mary Agnes Krell, Grand Northern Uke Festival UK

"Heavily influenced by soul, funk, blues, jazz, and rock & roll, Taylor Scott's music is gaining a reputation for transcending the limitations of a single genre. His diversely influenced "soul/jam" group, The Taylor Scott Band, is a high-powered extension of this mélange of sounds."
*JUNE 29th, THURS ~ KRIS SCHULZ ~ http://www.krisschulz.ca/
~ FINGERSTYLE MASTER ~ I've been lucky enough to have music in my life from the day I was born.
It seems almost everyone in my family plays music but it is my father Manfred who has always been my biggest inspiration. He taught me to use my ears at a very young age and gave me all the tools I needed to learn the language of music my own way.
Over the years I've sang, played piano, drums, and sax; but it's the guitar that grabbed my heart and changed my life.
At times I'm a student, indulging in countless hours of devoted study to my craft.
At times I'm a teacher, always happy to share my knowledge and passion with anyone who inquires.
And at times, when I'm centred and focused, the real music begins and all the meaningless noise disappears and is replaced by the stillness of truth.
My song can be ferocious, full of power and confidence, or it can be insecure and speak from a place of doubt.
It can be inspired by those around me or come from a deep isolation within.
It is a song that reminds me of how human I am in all my accomplishments and failures and I am forever grateful to play it.
Like many, music helps me to convey emotions I can't put into words and I'm fascinated by its universal language and ability to communicate that which cannot be said.
What I do is simple, I strive play the sounds I hear in my hear in my head, nothing more, nothing less,I have no better understanding of the process than that.
There are many styles and disciplines of music I study and follow but in the end, it's all just music. And while I subscribe to rigorous training and musical intellect at times, it's the sense of total freedom I crave when the notes play themselves and I am merely their conductor.
In 2014 I competed in the Canadian Fingerstyle Competiton and finished 4th place - The CGF is a world renowned acoustic event that sees players from all over the globe compete on the merit of their own compositions. The performances are played to a "blind" panel of judges made up of some of the worlds most respected acoustic players.
*JULY 7th & 8th, FRI & SAT ~ MUD BAY BLUES BAND ~ http://mudbayblues.com/wp/
Dean Gordon-Smith - Vernon Morning Star
The veteran five-piece Vancouver blues rock group, Mud Bay Blues Band’s new album, Colebrook Road is a rough hewn gem of gritty hybrid music.
The band’s sound is blues based, but they take it in interesting directions. The longevity of the group’s nearly 40-year stretch of unabashed rocking gives their music confidence and humour. This elasticity allows them to play fast and loose within their blues roots and they work it to the limit. They’re a band that sounds like they like playing together and it gives the songs on Colebrook Road a raucous kind of joy.
Led by singer and harpist Mud Bay Slim (King of the Mud Bay Delta Blues), the Mud Bay Blues Band aren’t purists of any sort and Colebrook Road amplifies their ballsy aesthetic. The production (aided by Victor Guideron and Jamie Sitar) preserves the interplay and casual irreverence of the band. It captures how they listen to each other, making the songs sound boisterous and relaxed.
There are several songwriters within the group but their styles differ just enough to add contrast. They know blues and rock vocabulary and also how to get weird with it.
That’s where the charm of the band emerges - you know that they’d be a hell of a party group!
The album gets more adventurous as it goes on. They write their lyrics on the tongue-in-cheek side of cliché and that’s part of the appeal of the music. Although the group brings on some guests, they serve the song – no showboating. The music has a naughty edge (Hellbent, Pins) that also reveals a well-oiled machine that suffers no wankers. Or maybe it kicks them in the butt.
By the time the title cut rolls in, the Mud Bay Blues Band grooves on in a uniquely unhinged way. Clearly, these crunchy West Coast blues rockers don’t let their tightness impede their inclinations to get down. It’s a new way to hear the blues, baby.

~ FREAK SHOW PREFORMER & SNAKE HANDLER ~
I have always loved to entertain and perform, Starting as "The Silver man statue" getting my first busking license in 2008 for the Winter Olympics then getting a yearly license at Granville Island continuing right up to 2012, when I decided to put it on the back burner to peruse a career as a Shock Artist! At the moment I manage a production crew called Burn One Down Productions, I perform on stage as "Burns the dragon." Most Recently I am a trained Rigger and Performer for The RISE Suspension Crew.
Juggling, Glass Walking, Human Block Head, Human Stapling, Rola Bola "Board of Nails", Fire Breathing, Fire Contact Juggling and more!
From behind the canvas flaps of circuses of old and from the stages of the most demented cabaret comes The Caravan Of Creeps!
The Caravan Of Creeps roadshow is born of a collective of Vancouver-based performers spanning sideshow, circus, cabaret, and burlesque, slithering out of the shadows, where fear meets fascination, shock meets awe and the strange and seductive intertwine.

Their music is refreshing, uplifting and sunny original indie world. They have always been drawn to collaborating with artists from all countries and they enjoy most of all the parties and festivals that celebrate a strong sense of community and equality in diversity.

~ TEXAS BLUES ~ The Andy T Band, fronted by guitarist Andy T, began in 2011 as the Andy T - Nick Nixon Band, with vocalist Nick Nixon. As Blues Underground Network said, “Simply put, Andy T and James ‘Nick’ Nixon have quickly risen to the top of many people’s lists of Great Collaborations.” Their recent release on Blind Pig Records, Numbers Man, was produced by renowned Texas guitarist Anson Funderburgh, and features the great Kim Wilson’s harmonica on one of the tracks. The album was nominated for a 2016 Blues Music Award as “Best Traditional Blues Album”, and the band was nominated for “Band of the Year” by the Blues Foundation.
Upon Nick Nixon’s 2016 retirement, Andy T and the band enlisted “Alabama Mike” Benjamin as lead singer. Mike is a dynamic, energetic vocalist that strongly connects with his audience. The group has been extremely well received, a highlight being the 2016 King Biscuit Festival. The band is looking forward to the Jan 2017 Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, along with the upcoming festival season.
This pairing is a force to be reckoned with and will not disappoint. Rick Estrin of “Rick Estrin and The Nightcats” stated, “Alabama Mike is a true star, he’s one of my absolute favorites”. This is one of the best touring bands on the circuit and a collaboration that cannot be missed!
